Extreme heat events that used to occur once every 50 years, are now 4.8 times more likely.

The looming consequences of climate change won’t be winter days that suddenly feel like the middle of summer. Instead, the changing of our climate will be much more noticeable through the extreme weather events that we’ll face more often.

So even though it might still snow in winter, events like heatwaves have become more frequent and more intense since the 1950s, and will continue to worsen unless we do something about it. And this won’t just be the case with warmer temperatures, we’ll see more floods, storms and hurricanes.
